{Dribbling through the Fall}

From marching band, right into basketball season we have gone. My Lady Panthers are 14-0 with one regular season game left to play. Next week we play for the county championship!

I am #5 in the maroon and white.

The best part of all is I still made honor roll! Life is good!

[Football Season Is Here!]

It's not that I haven't wanted to write I have just have been very busy with school and all of the extra stuff that goes with it. Besides keeping up an all "A" average in school, I play for our middle school basketball team, am a member of 4-H and as you can see from my previous post, I'm a part of the North Jackson High School Marching Chief Band.

Our show this year is songs from {"The Dark Side."} The opener is "Phantom of the Opera", followed by "Ghostbusters", "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor", and featuring our percussion we play "Thriller", and our closer this year is "Welcome to the Black Parade". Not only do we have a pretty good band, we also have a good football team, we are currently undefeated and hopefully that won't change. So far we have two competitions scheduled. One at Rogers High School, and one in Pell City! Wish us luck!
Mom is my photographer. She took 211 pictures at one of our games! Enjoy the pictures!

Some fans come just to see the band....just like Pop, Nana and two of my cousins.

See we have a really good football team!

Here are pictures from "Thriller".....

And other scenes from our show......

We may be a small band, but we make a BIG sound!

North Jackson High School Marching Band

This past year I was in the Stevenson Beginner Band, and after one year I was promoted to the Varsity Band. I currently play 3rd trumpet. On Saturday June 6, 2009 I marched in my very first parade and played the North Jackson "Fight Song War Song." It was in the Depot Days parade in Stevenson Alabama. I was very tired after the parade but, after we ate lunch we headed to the pool and had a cookout with some of our good friends and had a great evening!

Friends

In the movie The Little Rascals (which is my favorite.) Stymi says, "You only meet your once in a lifetime friend......once in a lifetime." Stymie also says, "You're a team like, Bert and Earni, Superman and Clark Kent, and Millie and Vannilli." In Rome I found this relationship with Keetra Murphy.
In my life I have moved many times, but my favorite place that I have lived in is Rome, Georgia, which I recently moved from in May. The first day of fourth grade I met Keetra and we both new from the start that we were going to be good friends.I'm not sure if she knew we would have that kind of relationship because, I didn't know.
Keetra and I became very close, on the weekends if we weren't together then some somebody was sick or out of town. Even when my mom had pneumonia and Keetra couldn't come over that didn't stop us. I would go over to their house and hangout one night. We are so close that when her mom went to Las Vegas she didn't want to stay with her dad and little brother we let her stay with us Thursday afternoon thru Sunday evening. She also has come twice since I moved and stayed a week both times.
The quote I said at the beginning is true, but now that I live here it might change. Keetra and I are best friends and nothing can change this fact!!!! We have different sports, she does cheer leading and tumbling, and I do basketball, but like I said......NOTHING can change our friendship!!!!!!

I have also tried to put my school work first and of course basketball second. This year I have been so blessed by the way that my academics were recognized. First I was inducted into the Junior Beta Club, then on February 5, I was on Honor Court at Academic Excellence. To be in Beta Club you have to maintain a ALL A average and have good behavior. To be in Honor Court they chose the top three boys and top three girls in each grade, not only do your grades count, but also the extra curricular activities. I am in Band, Beta Club, 4~H, and hopefully the Stevenson Lady Panthers Basketball team next year!!!! God has blessed me so much this year, and I'm so thankful for it!!
